The Lord Of Steel is a marvellous album. Full of dedication and inspiration, in a way only Manowar is able to deliver.

Each song has its own unique character, and together they create an atmosphere that is unheard of in any other album, be it Manowar or anyone else. This album is not only full of might, it is full of menacing, fierce, deep force that takes the fearless listener in its grip and does not let go.

The production is bold, to say the least. Manowar has reached for an unexpected sound that may be distracting at first listen, but once you surrender yourself to it, it is something quite remarkable.

All four basic elements - the voice, the guitar, the bass, the drums - are on fire from the beginning to the end. There are tremendous performances from each and everyone of the musicians with a great variety of emotions, from joyful to sinister, from murky to uplifting. It feels like Eric, Karl, Joey and Donnie are giving their soul to this album.

The lyrics are well-thought and inspired, adding greatly to the character of each song, yet maintaining - and donating some new elements to - the Manowar mythology that we all are familiar with.

I feel that I could write an essay on each song - and perhaps I will, later on - but for now I just want to say that my absolute favourite so far is Touch The Sky. It is of the same quality as songs like Mountains and Kingdom Come, yet with a totally new, fresh appeal. It purifies you, prepares you to reach for higher levels of achievement and deeper layers of your soul.

To put it short: I feel like Manowar has surpassed my high expectations, in a fresh, exciting and even surprising manner.

Now it is time to listen to The Lord Of Steel again... and again... and again...

Slabo. Bas pierdzi, hymnow chwytajacych za jaja brak, Hamzik cos puka w tle. Paradoksalnie najbardziej podoba mi sie El Gringo, tak powszechnie krytykowany. Black List brzmi jak pieprzony jam session. DiMaio jako twórca juz sie wypalil. Rozczarowanie.
